Travel Fair 2010
The annual Travel Fair, featuring projects by the students who earned the right to travel overseas (to Spain, Italy and France) during the current school year, took place in the gym, on June 8th.
It was a treat to visit the presentations and chat with the travelers about their experiences overseas. This annual event had a slightly different format this year. In addition to the riveting slide show of photos taken on the trips, we also introduced some live performances, including the first Traditional International Costume Parade (too cute!) , the winners of the Chinese Speech Contest, and a number of solo live performances, by current and former students, and children's singer/songwriter, Nelson Gill. It was a lively evening, finishing up with Ms Torres' entertaining 8th grade dance.
The weather did not cooperate, and so we had to serve the international food treats inside, but the eclectic selection, ranging from sushi to "choux la crème" (cream puffs), and drinks as varied as horchata, Thai iced tea and Orangina, all tasted just as yummy.
Merci, ¡Gracias!, Grazie, Danke,Xie Xie and thank you to all who helped out with this year's Travel Fair.
