CPS Cross Country LaSalle Students Shine!
Why are LaSalle students so good at running? It is a collective belief in a healthy life style.
Our physical education teacher Mr. VanSteen has been organizing the LaSalle Long Distance Classic for more than 20 years! All students from K through 8th run around the block with distances increasing up to 1 mile for 6th,7th and 8th graders. We encourage students to participate in the after school running club as early as 2nd grade, and our teachers volunteer to coach the 5th through 8th grade teams. No mystery: our runners are training very seriously to achieve and be the best in the city!
