¡Bienvenidos a Chicago!
After weeks of anticipation, and a long wait at the airport, 18 students and their two teacher chaperones from Barcelona, Spain, finally walked through the Arrivals gate at O’Hare International Terminal.
What a welcome they received! The LaSalle tradition for welcoming students is to make bilingual banners and posters and to bring balloons and flowers. This year’s hosts did it in style. There was even a welcome banner with flashing lights!
Our Spanish guests will spend two weeks staying with 8th grade students and their families. They will visit the main cultural and tourist attractions in Chicago, in addition to shadowing their LaSalle hosts in the classroom.
This is the first part of the Spanish exchange; LaSalle students will return to Spain in April 2012.
Our partner school is the Institut Joán Bosca in Barcelona.
