  • 2010 National Spanish Examinations

Congratulations to the 18 Spanish language students from LaSalle Language Academy who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2010 National Spanish Examinations. All who took the exam placed.

The medal breakdown is as follows: 8 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals along with 1 honorable mention. "Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious," said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, "because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with 125,915 students participating in 2010."

Students from LLA taught by Doris Torres (6th, 7th, 8th grade teacher) have a ten-year history of high achievement on these exams. The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12 and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
